During a conversation with a friend who some might describe as, well… a bit wild, she shared something someone told her after she had been in a situation where she felt misunderstood:

“You may not be everyone’s cup of tea. But you are someone’s shot of whiskey.”

I think about this witty aphorism often. I love this SO. MUCH. In fact, it gives me the courage to show up as myself on Instagram.

Recently, I decided to be intentional about what I post on there, and for the most part...
​

It’s nothing like what others are posting.
​

And can I share a little secret with you?

​

It’s freaking me out.

​

But I’ve decided to go with it. I’m posting what comes naturally to me. Creating content that is valuable but fun.

​

Don’t get me wrong, though. The intrusive thoughts still show up…

​

What if the copywriters who follow me think I can’t write?

What if I’m not resonating with everyone?

WAIT… what if I don’t resonate with ANYone?

​

…but I’m learning to tamper them down.

They’re turning into whispers… Billie Eilish-style.

And I’m having a blast because I know I don't *have* to be everyone's cup of tea.

I show up as myself.
